Stew Kalama Race

Shout out and big mahalo to all the clubs and paddlers who came out for the 21st annual Stew Kalama Race on March 9th, 2013.

The race honors the late Joseph "Stew" Kalama, one of the founders of Kai Oni Canoe Club.

We had a great turnout, a beautiful day, and some exciting ocean conditions.

That plus great food, raffles, and amazing live music made it a perfect way to kick off the 2013 paddling season.

Race results are here. We've got some pictures here.

Mahalo to OHCRA, the Kalama family, Ivan Shigaki, and the Jimmy Reyes Trio (and friends).
